Amsterdam, Broadband World Forum, The Netherlands, October 24, 2013 – AimValley releases the EX14 2.0: a cost effective compact Carrier Class Network Interface Device.
Customer feedback has resulted in several key enhancements for this Transport NID. The frame latency is reduced to 1 microsecond, a requirement for extreme delay sensitive applications. Also the number of MEPs is increased making the EX14 ideal for cost effective SLA monitoring with Y.1731 LM and DM. The addition of a hardened extended temperature grade version allows the use in the most demanding environments.
“Our customers appreciate the ease of use and cost effectiveness of the EX14. The new features broaden the application space in which our NID can be used,” says Jan Venema, CTO at AimValley. “The EX14 provides the key performance indicators enabling Mobile Backhaul and Business Ethernet Access operators to provide optimized Quality of Experience to end users.”
The EX14 Transport NID supports CFM OAM IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) and ITU-T Y.1731 Frame Loss (LM) and Frame Delay (DM) measurement to monitor and optimize Service Level Agreements (SLA). Using the CreaNord EchoVault SLA management solution, or Titan API for tight integration with customers management systems, network operators can configure and monitor all relevant parameters for optimal Quality of Experience. Because of its small size, low power consumption and extended temperature range, the EX14 is ideally suited for Mobile Backhaul and Business Ethernet Access applications in locations with space and dissipation restrictions.
