Nürnberg, Germany, February 25, 2014 – AimValley is pleased to announce the availability of the new EVS6000 Evaluation Platform for development and evaluation of FPGA based designs.
The board allows FPGA and Software development teams to jumpstart the development of FPGA based communication systems. The system has a modular design and consists of a base board and an FPGA mezzanine board. The mezzanine board carries a Xilinx® Artix®-7 FPGA.
AimValley is a certified member of the Xilinx Alliance program. This enables them to gain deep knowledge and take full advantage of Xilinx All Programmable FPGAs and the Vivado® Design toolkit. “With this release, AimValley demonstrates their capabilities to develop complex systems, using the expertise of our FPGA, Hardware and Embedded Software development teams. Thanks to our partnership with Xilinx, we are able to provide our customers with design services with shorter development cycles and at lower cost”, says Pieter de Boer, Managing Director at AimValley.
Sanjay Gehani, Senior Manager responsible for Smarter Vision Partnerships at Xilinx added, “AimValley’s technical innovation and expertise in bringing this evaluation board to market is impressive. With this launch, they have not only proved their ability to execute and deliver a complex FPGA design, but have also provided a valuable design resource for Xilinx customers seeking to implement advanced communications designs.”
The EVS6000 base board has various interfaces, including SFP ports, PDH interfaces and triple-speed Ethernet interfaces with support for synchronous Ethernet and IEEE 1588 PTP. It also contains an embedded processor with Ethernet and serial interfaces for debugging. The processor provides access to the FPGA board via the address/data bus, PCI Express®, SGMII, SPI and I2C interfaces.
At the Embedded World from February 25-27 in Nürnberg, Germany, booth 5-452, AimValley will demonstrate the capabilities of the board. The set up demonstrates the transport of TDM over packet networks IP on the EVS6000 Evaluation platform.
